This week we learned about the letter K. Tuesday was Knights and Kings day. We started the day practicing writing our first and last names. In morning centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase K, did a K phonics game, wrote our dad questions page, and made a K King project. In afternoon centers, we finished our King project, played with kinetic sand, finished our dad questions, and played with magnetic cubes. At the end of the day, we did our love hand prints, played games, and had story time.

Wednesday was Kites and Kindness day. We started the day writing K’s and coloring kites. In morning centers, we did a kind kid writing page, did our K cutting page, magnetic kites, and kinetic sand. In afternoon centers, we made kites, did number bead kites, geo boards, and finished our kind pages. At the end of the day, we colored our mom and dad folders and played a king/unkind game.

Thursday we celebrated Earth Day! We started the day coloring Earth. Then after circle time, we watched a video about garbage and recycling and then went outside to “kick the garbage” and recycle what needs to be recycled. For art, we glued blue and green squares onto a circle to make our Earth. At the end of the day, we did Earth q-tip painting and had story time. See you next week for Q week and King and Queen Day!
