We had a great week with the letter Kk. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate, we had fun talking about and celebrating earth day too. Here’s a snap shot of our week…
In centers the kids cut, colored and glued a string and bows on a kite, they did an earth day look and find, and picked up some letter ‘trash’ and wrote the letters on LED tablets. They also, did a P/Q letter sort, they did a recycling sort, and made a king out of the letter K.
In science the kids did a nature scavenger hunt. Since it was freezing outside, I brought the nature inside to them and hid various outdoor objects. They found rocks, pine cones, pine needles, flowers, etc. It was still a fun activity!
In art the kids decorated the earth with blue and green squares and then put a heart in the middle.
We have been reading lots of books but their favorites have become our Mercy Watson chapter books. Ask your kids about Mercy’s silly adventures. We are on our third book about her already!
Next week is our last full week of April and our last letter of the alphabet, Yy, before we start reviewing all of the letters. Time has flown by!! Looking forward to another great week.
