We started the month off busy and this weeks letter focus was Ll! We did lots of activities incorporating the letter Ll.

Some of our centers for the week included: Say It Spell It Build It Trace It with our last names, practiced tracing and writing our last names, clothespin upper/lowercase letter match, groundhog number trace and ten frame, monthly writing sample, missing ladybug number, number trace and write, LOTS of cutting and following directions with some crafts.

We completed a space/star mobile that the students got to take home on Thursday and worked hard on making ladybugs/lovebugs for you all and we will complete them on Tuesday!

The books I read this week included: Good Morning Groundhog!, Ten Grouchy Groundhogs, Ladybug’s Birthday!, Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late, Don’t Tell Lies Lucy!, Just a Little Love (Little Critter), and I Love My Hat.

All week we had been practicing our letters with my flashcards and the more and more we work at home and school the quickly they will remember them and we can move on and continue to master the sounds of the letters. Again, flashcards can be bought at the dollar store OR made at home. If you make some just please put the upper and lower case letter on each! Repetition is KEY and the more and more they see them the faster and quicker we will learn them!

I discussed Groundhog’s Day with the classes on Tuesday and had some books that went along with it.

Next week we will be covering the letter Vv and on Thursday is our class Valentine’s party which a pink note was sent home on Thursday regarding bringing in cards/treats and the number of students in each class. Please email me if you have questions MrsAimeeABC@gmail.com.

Please make sure to bundle your child up this week with the cold cold temperatures coming! See everyone on Tuesday!
