Welcome to Mrs. Kelli’s Preschool Classroom!

This week, we focused on the letter V & celebrated Valentine’s Day!

Books we read:

Vegetables in Underwear

Porcupine Valentine

Centers on Monday & Tuesday:

We colored a vacuum for our Vv ABC page

We used dot markers to color a heart shaped valentine

We shaped kinetic sand into letter Vv

We did a number line on our magnetic board, matching 1-10 and put corresponding #’s of magnets on each

We painted on snow

After centers, we did a volcano experiment.  The kids all thought it was really cool!

If you would like to try it at home, just put some baking soda in a dish.  In another container, mix white vinegar, liquid soap, some food coloring, & stir. Pour the liquid over the baking soda to see the reaction!  (We didn’t measure anything in exact amounts, we just eyeballed everything.)

On Wednesday & Thursday, we had our Valentine’s Day parties!

Some of the fun activities we did were:

Decorating our Valentine’s bags with stickers

Playing a Valentine Unicorn heart toss

Playing “cupid’s arrow”- blowing Q-Tips through a straw into a bowl

Doing a “find the heart” activity

Playing with Valentine’s balloons

We also shared a Valentine’s Friendship snack.  We combined pretzels. Swedish Fish, Valentine’s M&M’s, & marshmallows, & we worked together to stir it up! The kids thought it was delicious! We also had juice boxes to drink.

At the end of the day, we passed out our Valentine’s to each other. I think they loved this the most! Thank you for bringing in such great treats!

Until Next Week.
