It was great to get to talk to some of you in person or over the phone to discuss your child’s growth and my goals for them for the remainder of the year! Hard work at school and home will help your child achieve these goals and succeed! 🙂

This week we discussed the letter Ss and had a busy 3 days of Snowmen, Stars and Space, and lastly my favorite Seuss!

Some of our centers this week included: a snowman sequencing page, coloring the letter Ss in a scramble, creating their own snowman and naming them, snowman match (number to tally marks to ten frame dots), rainbow traced shapes, color by number starry night, practiced our names (first and last), cut out a few things, and did some really good fine motor skills rolling paper for our Seuss Thing hats on Thursday!

We created hot air balloons that are now displayed in the hallway going with the Seuss theme of Oh, the places we’ll go! We also made Thing crowns on Thursday and completed a handprint Seuss craft that I will be holding onto until the end of the year!

I read lots of good books this week: Sneezy the Snowman, Snowmen All Year, There was a cold lady who swallowed some snow, Otter in Space, There was an old astronaut who swallowed the moon, More Spaghetti I Say!, Snow, The Cat in the Hat, There’s a Wocket in my Pocket, and The Lorax.

I started going through my letter flashcards out of alphabetical order to review more and really focus on letter recognition!

The month of February we have lots of fun activities planned including a Valentine’s Party on Thursday, February 11th. We will be working on the letters L, V, H and D and our shape will be a heart!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me I do my best to get back the same day!

Have a great weekend!
