Welcome back kiddies!!! We had a great start to the year and I see us having an awesome second half of the year!
This week we covered the letter Ss, shape star and the numbers 13, 14 along with our colors of black and white.
Throughout the next few weeks we will be gathering middle of the year evaluation information that we will discuss at Parent Teacher Conferences that are currently scheduled for Friday, January 21st. Notes will be coming home with your time spot and all the information will be in the letter.
Monday- We completed numerous Snowman/Snow themed centers. Centers included building a snowman (sequencing) activity, counting snowballs in quick kits, creating a snowman and thinking of a name for them, along with counting the snowman buttons. We started the day with a color by number Happy New Year page.
Tuesday- Stars and Space was our theme and our centers were themed around that. We had space patterns (had to finish the next 2 items), alien alphabet in quick kits in which that completed the missing letter, starry night color by number, and lastly had a star to dab with bingo dabbers. We had two books today Fly Guy Presents: Space and Clara & Clem Go To Space. We started the day off with a connect the dot which was a start. Students completed this much better than the last time we tried a dot to dot. This one was with numbers.
Wednesday- Our 5 senses was our theme today. We discussed what our 5 senses are and had 5 mini books that we covered that each talked more in detail about the body parts included with the sense. The items we completed during center time were before and after numbers in quick kits (this was a challenge for kids, especially if they only know 1-10 as we are working on numbers greater than 10), practiced uppercase and lowercase Ss writing, completed a 5 senses chart with our partners, and lastly had a cut and paste matching the word to the body part for the sense. We started our day off today practicing our names and numbers in quick kits.
Thursday we were not in session.
Next week we will be virtual! We are getting our website set up this weekend and Mrs. Trish will be sending out the link once we get everything ready to go!
PLEASE now that the weather is completely winter, dress your child appropriately! We do not go outside, but for dismissal be sure to have coats on and hats/hoods that we can help get on! My room is a bit chilly some days especially with a west wind, so keep that in mind! I do have an extra heater we run to keep the room warm.
Please email me if you have any questions MrsAimeeABC@gmail.com. We will be in touch next week via computer! Keep watching your email for updates from Mrs. Trish and Mrs. Colleen!
