Mrs. Kelli’s Preschool Classroom

 

This week, we focused on the letter Gg, the color green, & the diamond/rhombus shape

 

Books we read:

Goat in a Boat

Goodnight Moon

The Leprechaun Trap

 

Centers:

 

We colored a letter G green for our G ABC page

We used quick kits to identify upper/lower case Gg from other letters

We practiced cutting

We did “seed math”- putting seeds in cups with the corresponding number

We used our rubber band boards for fine motor practice

We traced the diamond/rhombus shape

We used toothpicks to make the diamond/rhombus shapes

We used cookie cutters to cut out diamonds/rhombuses

We did ten frames using shamrocks to count to 7

We threaded beads on kites (diamond/rhombus shape) to match corresponding numbers

 

ART/Other:

 

We planted grass seeds in soil in individual cups.  It will be lots of fun to watch our grass grow!

We did “color & spray” shamrocks on coffee filters.  We colored with markers & used a spray bottle to watch the colors run together.  They turned out really cute!
