We continued with the letter Gg this week talking about green and gray! Wednesday the kids got to sample green eggs and ham! Some enjoyed and didn’t last long on their plates and others not so much! We got some pictures of the kids enjoying this snack you will see at the end of the year!

This week we had some nice weather and with that being said, we could go outside if time allows on certain days. Please send a light jacket just incase of it being a little chilly or windy like it was this week. Even if we take a walk around the building for some fresh air, I don’t want the kids being cold!

Some of our centers this week included: letter Gg page with different items beginning with Gg, practiced cutting zigzag cuts and then used our cut pieces to put it back together like a puzzle, located number 17s in a scramble, drew some eggs and ham that Sam would like to eat, completed a count and color with Dr. Seuss items, did a green eggs and ham maze, drew their favorite foods to eat, practiced writing our upper and lowercase letters and numbers in a quick kit, and completed one fish two fish red fish blue fish writing on their art project.

Since we were still talking with Dr. Seuss this week having green eggs and ham, I read several books by him along with some others. These are the books I read this week: Pete the Cat Go Pete Go, Grumpycorn, Nelly Gnu and Daddy Too, The Tooth Book, Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, There’s a Wocket in my Pocket, Marvin K. Mooney will you please go!, and Oh the Places You’ll Go! I enjoy the Dr. Seuss books with all the rhyming and repetition that he uses! It is great for beginning readers and  hearing all the rhyming words.

I am continuing to drill the students with the number and letter flashcards! I plan on trying to put some sight words in our rotation come April! We will also start doing some of our end of the year evaluations starting mid-April.

Next week we will be covering the letter Uu and our topics are underwater fun, umbrellas, and up, up, and away! Be sure to wear green on Wednesday for St. Patrick’s Day! I have a fun craft planned that I’ll be sure to get pictures of the kids before they take the project home!

Enjoy your weekend and as always, please email me if you have any questions! MrsAimeeABC@gmail.com
