During the month of May, we are reviewing the letters that we worked on throughout the year. This week we reviewed the letters Aa, Mm, Cc, Jj, Ff, Oo, Pp and Rr. We also had our King and Queen Day this week.
On Tuesday, we had our King and Queen Day for our moms and dads. We had a great time, and the kids did awesome up on stage. For start-up, we colored a king and queen coloring page. For centers in the afternoon, we colored our May writing/coloring sample, did tanagram puzzles, did a cut and paste p & q sorting page, and patterned with bears. We also were evaluated on our upper-and-lower case ABCs, counted out loud and counted objects.
On Wednesday, we focused on the letters Aa, Mm, Cc, and Jj. For start-up, we practiced tracing our names, addresses and phone numbers. We read the book Pete the Cat and the Bedtime Blues. For morning centers, we matched ABCs with Alphabet Mats, played a number caterpillar game, matched upper-and lower-case ABCs with a moose theme, and worked on ten frames with jingle bells. In the afternoon, we were evaluated on our numbers 0-20 and wrote our names. We also were evaluated on our letter sounds.
On Thursday, we focused on the letters Ff, Oo, Pp and Rr. For start-up, we traced/wrote our first and last names. We read the books Pete the Cat and the Cool Cat Boogie and Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons. For art, we worked on a surprise. For afternoon centers, we used playdoh on frog themed number mats, patterned with Pete the Cat themed cards, matched opposites with an opposite game and colored a mouse coloring page. We also did our May following directions farm coloring.
Until next week,
