We had a PUMPKINtastic week!
Monday we had lots of pumpkin activities! Things we did in centers included pumpkin upper and lowercase letter matching, pumpkin patterns cut paste color, pumpkin line tracing and creating a graph by the amount of shapes inside the pumpkin. The books we had were Peppa Pig and the Pumpkin Contest, Pumpkin Day!, and Duck Duck Dinosaur Perfect Pumpkin.
Tuesday was our pretend pizza party and all our centers were pizza related! We had pizza counting cut paste color, pizza shape matching cut paste color, pizza upper and lowercase letter matching and P letter scramble. The books we had were Pizza Pig and How to Eat Pizza! We also created Penguins from the letter P.
Wednesday was probably the kids favorite day by wearing their pajamas to school and getting to enjoy some popcorn while we watched Spookley the Square Pumpkin. We had lots of fun pajamas and had 1 set of matching Halloween ones in the afternoon! The book I read was There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat. Before the movie started the students created their own Spookley the Square Pumpkin and after the movie the kids were given a small pumpkin to put their face stickers on!
Thursday we were not in the class but had our field trip to the Pumpkin Patch! Brrrr it was chilly but from the looks of the kids smiling faces, I would say they had a fun time picking their pumpkins or doing some of the other activities they had. I did go down the big slide once before my group set off to search for pumpkins. Someone got a picture I’m sure!
Next week will be a fun and exciting week leading up to Halloween weekend! Monday is our party day and students are allowed to wear costumes to school. The students will have different fun stations that they will participate in in the big room and then we will rotate through and do our trick or treating and get all the goodies! Students will not eat any of the candy at school but will take it home for you all to check. Also, we will be having a snack on Thursday instead of Monday. I didn’t want to rush with the party and letting them enjoy the day, so Thursday when we have extra big room time already into our schedule, we will use that to enjoy our Halloween treat!
I hope those that attended the pumpkin patch had a good time and I am looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up on Monday!
Have a good weekend! If you have any questions, please email me at MrsAimeeABC@gmail.com.
