Hello! The weather didn’t cooperate for going outside this week, but we kept busy inside! Picture Day was this week and the kids did great! You will all love the big smiles!

On Mon/Tuesday we focused on the #2. We counted to number #2 wherever we could! We used dot markers on a #2. We read Peanut Butter and Cupcake. The kids love to listen to stories on CD especially if there is a song involved!

In our centers we practiced cutting, rolled play doh into a #2 play doh mat, strung beads, #2 worksheet quick kit, wooden math pegs, used ABC magnets to spell our name.
At the end of the day we counted 2 eyes, 2 legs, 2 ears…. etc

On Wed/Thur we focused on a square- how it is shaped and how it’s different than a rectangle. We read Spookly the Square Pumpkin and made our own Spookly pumpkin. We are hanging them in the hall!

In our centers we colored our nursery rhyme page (Itsy Bitsy Spider), made squares with rubber bands on geo boards, transferred Pom poms using long tweezers, made squares with popsicle sticks,  drew squares on the writing tablets. At the end of the day we made squares as a group using unifix cubes!

Many people have emailed me asking what they could be doing at home with their child. My answer is always small motor activities- string beads, stickers, pinching/rolling play doh, writing, coloring, cutting…. etc. strengthening those hand/finger muscles is what helps them write!
Also now that it’s getting colder,  practice putting on and zipping coats!! That is a huge time saver at the end of the day!!
Thank you for all your kind words and encouragement!! I am really blessed by all of you!

Have a great weekend!

Mrs. Kristina
