We had a great week talking about ‘Aa’ and apples! Here’s a snap shot…
In centers the kids hole punched apples with numbers on them, they cut and glued apples and put them in order according to how eaten it was, and they glued their picture at the bottom of a paper and glued apples on top of their head and wrote their name, 1 letter per apple. They also, laced apples with holes in them to make the worm, worked on name books, and painted with q-tips.
On Wednesday the kids tasted red, yellow and green apples and picked their favorite. We then graphed the votes as a class and tallied the numbers for each color. Ask your child which color was the class favorite?
In science we predicted whether or not our apples would sink or float in water. They made their hypothesis, or prediction, and then we tested all 3 colored apples. All floated! 🙂
In art we painted with apples. They turned out really cute and will come home next week.
We read several books including ’10 Apples Up On Top’ and ‘Annie the Apple Pie Fairy’
Next week we will talk about the letter ‘Mm.’ Looking forward to it!
