We had a great week with the letter ‘Mm!’ Here is a snap shot…
In centers on Tuesday the kids cut the hair of faces with mustaches, they made the letter ‘m’ with strips of paper and glued eyes and a mustache on it, and they measured objects with mustaches. On Wednesday in centers the kids matched upper and lowercase muffins with letters on them and then fed them to a moose, traced their hands and then cut them out to make the antlers of a moose, and they counted blueberries (beads) into muffin tins with numbers on the bottom. On Thursday in centers the kids used tweezers to pick worms out of the mud (kinetic sand), sorted the upper and lowercase ‘Mm,’ and put mud (pudding) on a pig! They loved playing with the pudding and we managed to keep the mess to a minimum. 🙂
On Tuesday afternoon, the kids tried to pin a mustache on Mrs. Missy and we did an activity where I said, “I mustache you a question…” The questions were yes or no and the kids put their mustache under yes or no depending on their answer. On Wednesday afternoon we read “If you Give A Moose A Muffin” and then ate our muffins! On Thursday afternoon we finished our morning centers and then did art.
In art we painted the backgrounds of our original works pieces that will come home in November. They turned our really colorful, I can’t wait to put them all together!
I can’t believe next week is a new month already. We will talk about the letter ‘O’ first. See you in October!
