Welcome to Mrs. Aimee’s 1/2 day Pre-K Class!!!
We had a great first week getting to know each other and learning our schedule and routines! I know we will have a fabulous year together growing and having fun with our new friends!
The month of September we will cover the letters Aa and Mm, numbers 0-1-2-3, circle and oval and the color red. All the basic concepts like these, will change monthly.
This week we practiced and tried learning timing, rotating and sharing/interacting with our classmates for our daily centers. Some centers we tried out this week were: popsicle uppercase and lowercase letter match, cup stacking, and animal tangrams. We also did a few follow directions activities throughout the week. The students colored a Dr. Seuss hat that I will display on our classroom door. Friday we created a Patriot Day craft that students brought home. Everyone that turned in the All About Me pages got a chance to come up to the front of the class and share with their classmates all about them! I think all the students enjoyed having the spotlight for a bit!
I enjoy reading books to the class and this week the books I read were: 1st Day Jitters, Llama llama Misses Momma, Clifford and the Big Red School, Little Critter Goes to School, Pinky Dinky Doo School is Cool, Back to School? Cool!, LMNO Peas, Letter Town, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and lastly Chrysanthemum.
I took all the kids pictures on the first day of school with a Dr. Seuss frame I made and we will also take one again at the end of the school year.
I have a ton of fun centers, crafts, books and activities planned for this year and am looking forward to watching my classes learn, grow and have fun!
