Happy last week of September! Wow I cannot believe it has been four weeks already! This week we learned about the letter “M.” Tuesday’s theme was “If you give a Moose a Muffin.” For morning work, we had to find all the Mm’s on our papers. After circle time, we made sure to read the book that goes along with the theme for the day. For morning centers, we wrote about what we would give a moose and practiced writing upper and lower case Mm. We also matched numbers to muffin ten frames and cut out pictures that begin with M. In afternoon centers, we finished our M page by gluing the pictures that start with M and matching upper and lower case letters with muffins and jam. We also traced the alphabet and did a fun muffin tin colors game! In the afternoon, we got to eat muffins. They of course loved this! They thought the funfetti muffins were delicious 🙂 We ended the day with a couple more stories about a moose and the letter M.

Wednesday’s theme was M is for mustache. We started the day practicing writing our first and last names. For morning centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase Mm and found all the letters in our first names. We also played a game with number cards and colored, cut, and taped mustaches onto popsicle sticks. For afternoon centers, we found all the words that start with M, played a color mustache game, played with pop it ten frames, and decorated, cut, and glued the letter M. At the end of the day, we finished up our unfinished work and played with our friends. We also had our very first chapel time. The kids enjoyed going into the chapel and learning about creation.

Thursday was wear red day and we celebrated Gianna’s birthday! We started the day coloring a heart page the color red. For morning centers, we drew something red, sorted items that were red or not red, counted red apple pom poms and put them on an apple tree. We also did some q-tip painting with red paint! For art class, we made a moose out of the letter M, traced our hands for the antlers, and even added some eye stickers and a mustache! At the end of the day, we made our very own red book with different things that are red. We even read a couple of stories about the color red! I hope you have a great weekend! Next week we are learning about the letter “F.” Come ready to learn about Frogs and the Farm 🙂
