This week we focused on the letter Qq. We talked about the sound the letter Qq makes and words that begin with the letter Qq. we came up with queen, quilt, question, quiet, and quail.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of Queens. For start-up, we colored a Qq page with pictures of things that start with the letter Qq. For morning centers, we worked on ten frames by using rhinestones, did a cut and paste queen page, played a Queen letter game, and practiced tracing/writing the letter Qq. In the afternoon, we did the Qq says /q/ page and worked on “surprises” for King & Queen Day. Today, we also took our graduation pictures.
On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of quilts. For start-up, we practiced tracing our names and addresses. We had specials today with the 5 all-day teachers. For centers, we used “fruit loops” to make a quilt, worked on putting together word puzzles, did a cut and paste “Qq is for quail” page, and worked on a name quilt project. In the afternoon, we finished up our name quilt project and worked on more “surprises” for King & Queen Day.
On Thursday, we focused on the theme of Easter. Today we had our Easter “party” in class. For centers, we played a “Roll-a-bunny” game, traced our ABCs with an Easter egg theme, colored a color-by-letter spring page, and build with Lincoln Logs. For afternoon art, we worked on another “surprise” for King & Queen Day. At the end of the day, we had chapel and learned about Jesus’ “Last Supper”!!!!
Until next week,
