Hi Parents,

It was our last week of a specific letter (the letter Yy) before starting to review all of the letters next week. Here is a snapshot…

On Tuesday our theme was ‘Yarn art.’ In morning centers, the kids laced yarn through numbers 1-20 on a plate, they cut out, and hole punched a yellow Y, they worked on their Y page, and they played with magnets. We have started practicing for graduation so from now on, every afternoon, they will have practice with Mrs. Trish in the church. We ended the day with toys while I evaluated the kids for the end of the year. They have all learned so much this year, I am so proud of them!

On Wednesday our theme was ‘Yellow.’ In the morning, we had all of the classes together for specials and the kids practiced their songs that they have learned during Spanish, sign language, and zoo phonics. You will see all of the songs performed at graduation! In the afternoon the kids worked on a cut and glue page. They had to draw the rest of a flower and cut and glue the word ‘yellow’ on to the top of the page. They also cut and glued a pencil and wrote their name on it. The kids had done this same pencil in September. These will be in their binders, what a difference between the 2!! We ended the day by having the kids play with other kids that will be going to their same school next year.

Thursday was camping day! We spent the morning with Mrs. Brenda’s class ‘roasting’ mini marshmallows over a pretend fire, singing camping songs, and reading camping books inside our tent. I’ll post a few pictures on GroupMe. In the afternoon, the kids wrote what they are going to be when they grow up. They also drew a picture of themselves doing that career. We ended the day in the big room playing with toys with the other classes.

Next week is our letter boot camp. We will be spending that week reviewing all of the letters. Looking forward to it!

Take Care,

Missy
