This week we learned about the letter B. Tuesday was Bug Day. We started the day coloring a butterfly. In centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase B, started our bug books, did a bug pattern page, and played in a bug sensory bin. For art, we made hand print butterflies and painted our frames for king and queen day. Then we finished our bug books and did a color by number. At the end of the day, we got to play with our friends.
Wednesday was Brown Bear day. We started the day reading books with friends. During circle time, we read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See? Then we had Specials. We got to practice our Zoophonics song, our sign language songs, and our Spanish song. We also learned about the butterfly life cycle for Science. In centers, we did a brown bear writing page, found b’s and got the bear to his cave, did a bear roll and cover numbers page, and did a write and color page for B. At the end of the day we did our B cutting page and played with our friends.
Thursday was Butterfly day. We started the day practicing writing our first and last names and phone numbers. In circle time, we went over the butterfly life cycle and got to see our caterpillars. In morning centers, we did a butterfly writing page, a BD cutting page, counted butterflies, and played with blocks. In afternoon centers, we played Bingo, found the beginning letter sounds, did a color by shape page, and cut and glued butterfly life cycle pieces into the correct order. At the end of the day, we did our April writing and coloring sample.
