This week we focus on the letter Cc and Jj as a review. We continued to talk about the sound each letter makes and words that begin with that letter.
On Tuesday, we focused on the theme, Christmas trees and cards. We read the book Howard B. Wigglebottom and the Power of Giving: A Christmas Story. During centers, we used playdoh to decorate trees with the number of ornaments the card said, made a Christmas card for mom and dad, put magnets on a dotted tree, made a Christmas tree with push pin template, and matched tree silhouettes. For art, we finished our Christmas tree ornament. We also packed up all of the gifts we’ve been working on the last couple of weeks and got to bring them home. Hope you all enjoyed them!!!!!
On Wednesday, we focused on Jesus’ birthday. We read the book The Stable Where Jesus was Born. During centers, we used pattern blocks to make nativity pictures, cut out and followed directions on a gingerbread man, match upper and lowercase ABCs in a Christmas theme and sorted jingle bells with tongs. Today, we also got to do our gift exchange and had our Christmas party. It was a lot of fun!!!
On Thursday, we had an ugly sweater day. We all wore our ugly sweaters to school. We read the book Pete the Cat Saves Christmas. During centers, we traced a Christmas ornament to practice our fine motor, put jingle bells on our sleigh ten frame cards, decorated an ugly sweater (will come home after break due to having the glue dry), used pattern blocks to make Christmas themed pictures and practiced cutting on lines to strengthen our cutting skills. In the afternoon, we got to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas.
I hope each and every one of you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!
Until next year,
