Mrs. Kelli’s Preschool Classroom
This week, we focused on the letter Jj & Christmas!
Books we read:
Room For a Little One
Pete the Cat Saves Christmas
Centers on Monday & Tuesday:
We colored our Jj ABC page
We practiced cutting-using play doh!
We put jingle bells in muffin tins, in groups of 4
We played with water beads for a fun sensory activity
We played Ants in the Pants, making the ants jump!
We practiced name writing
Our party days were Wednesday & Thursday. Even though covid has forced us to do things differently, we tried to make it as fun as we could!
During our party, we decorated a felt tree, did cup stacking, we sorted Christmas themed items, made jingle bell necklaces, & had a fun snowman snack, using donuts, chocolate chips, and pretzel sticks. We had a little dance party, & had tons of fun exchanging gifts with one another. We were super excited that our elf, Charlie wrote us a letter & left us magic reindeer food to put out on Christmas Eve. We even sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and blew out a candle! The kids were so excited to bring the gifts home that they’ve been working on for weeks. I hope you treasure them for years to come.
This December looked very different at ABC . We didn’t get to have our Christmas pageant, our annual Kids Only Night, or parties in the Big Room with our parents. We missed all of those things so much, but we pray that the things we did get to do were fun for everyone.
On a personal note, thank you so much for all of your lovely, thoughtful, generous gifts! It truly touches my heart & I appreciate everything so much!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
*See you in January! School resumes on Monday, January 4th (for M/W preschoolers, January 5th for Tue/ Thur preschoolers)*
