This week we had fun with the letter L! The theme for Tuesday was Little Love Bugs. We started the day practicing tracing and writing our names and phone numbers. For morning centers, we practiced writing the letter L, played a game counting to 100, did some sequencing with little love bugs, and did a love bug coloring page. For afternoon centers, we made love bugs using push pins. These came out so cool! They will be sent home on Tuesday. We also did some letter matching with yarn and a number maze with our new numbers, 15 and 16. At the end of the day, we had fun with shapes and each of us made a house. During story time, we read some fun books! It was a great day!
Wednesday was lollipops and limbo day! We started the day writing uppercase and lowercase letter L. In morning centers, we wrote about things we love, practiced counting with lollipops, made our names with letter lollipops, and finished our push pin love bugs. In the afternoon, we had fun with phonics, learning our new letter with Lizzy Lizard, along with all the other letters we have learned. We also did ABC movement cards and got some exercises in with different letters of the alphabet. They played limbo at recess and got lollipops at the end of the day!
Thursday, we started the day practicing writing teen numbers. For morning centers, we wrote about what we love and drew a picture to go along with it, did some graphing with candy hearts, matched upper and lower case letters, and made fun pictures using snap cubes! They loved this! For art class, we made 2 projects this week. We ripped construction paper and made the cutest “I love you to pieces” heart page. We also used stamp pads to put our finger prints on another heart page that includes a poem I know you parents will love! These will be send home on Tuesday so I hope you enjoy them! At the end of the day, we decorated hats and cut them out to display in our room. We even practiced cutting with hair cutting pages, which they really enjoyed! We ended the day with story time and treasure box. Have a great weekend and see you next week! Our Valentine party is on Wednesday.
