A few of our monthly items: letter of the week was Ii, numbers 13 and 14, shape is star and white is our color.
We were busy this week in our centers doing a variety of things. Here are a few of the things the children participated in: Insect patterns, writing upper and lowercase Ii’s, Color by number, Sequencing insects by size, Color by letter, coloring and cutting ice cream cones, constructing Xx’s and Ii’s, tracing lines (straight, angles), building igloos with magnetic tiles and picking out numbers on a page with letters.
With the letter Ii being our weekly letter the students also enjoyed having a little ice cream sundae on Wednesday and ice skating in the big room on Thursday! I sent home a sheet on Wednesday that I explained to the kids they can try to make their own ice cream at home, that gave step by step and ingredients listed.
I enjoy reading books to the class and a student can never have too many books! I encourage you to read to your child daily!!! Their vocabulary will grow, along with their love of books and reading! The books I read to the class this week were: The Very Busy Spider, I Spy Fly Guy, Fly Guy’s Big Family, Curious George Visits an Ice Cream Shop, Curious George Makes an Igloo, Inch by Inch, and Should I Share My Ice Cream? a Elephant and Piggie book.
We also have been working on getting some middle of the year evaluations complete and ready for parent teacher conferences next Friday, January 22nd. If you have not returned your sheet PLEASE do so ASAP!!!
Next week we will be talking about the letter Ww, winter animals, winter, and Thursday we are having wacky hair/clothes day!
Enjoy the weekend and please if you have any questions email me at MrsAimeeABC@gmail.com.
