This week was all about Dr. Seuss. We did activities, games and projects all related to Dr. Seuss.

On Tuesday, we focused on activities around the book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. During our circle time we read the book. For start-up, we colored a Dr. Seuss coloring page. During centers, we rolled dice and then added one more and one less to our number using Goldfish crackers, played a Dr. Seuss I-Spy game, drew a picture for our monthly coloring/writing page, and measured our foot with linking chains, crayons, uni-fix cubes and coins. For afternoon centers, we matched opposites, made patterns out of linking chains, made ABCs out of snap cubes, and did word puzzles. We also played Dr. Seuss bingo.

On Wednesday, we focused on activities around the book Cat in the Hat. During our circle time, we read the book. For start-up, we colored a Thing 1 & Thing 2 coloring page. During centers, we graphed with Goldfish crackers, did a Cat in the Hat rhyming cut and paste, matched our ABCs with a Cat in the Hat matching, and stacked red cups and used cardstock in between to see how high we could build a tower. In the afternoon, we colored and made a Cat in the Hat hat.

On Thursday, we focused on activities around the book Green Eggs and Ham. During circle time, we read the book Cat in the Hat Comes Back. For start-up, we traced our names, addresses and phone numbers. During, centers, we made our ABCs with pop-its, colored an egg and ham cut out and glued them on a paper plate, did a Green Eggs and Ham creative writing, and matched upper and lower-case ABCs with a Green Eggs and Ham themed matching. For art, we painted our hands to make a Thing 1 & Thing 2 project. In the afternoon, we got to eat green eggs and ham. All of us seemed to like it!!!!

As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Until next week,
