This week we learned about the letter U. Tuesday was underwater adventures day. We started the day playing toys with friends. In centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase U, matched seashell letters to words they start with, did a fish color by number, and started making our underwater pouches. In art, we painted with balloons onto a balloon. These are hanging in our classroom and turned out great! We also finished making our underwater scenes on our underwater pouches. Then we started our foil fish project. At the end of the day, we did our March writing and coloring sample.
Wednesday was Up day. We started the day practicing writing our first and last names and our phone numbers. We had Specials and learned sign language and science. For sign language, we practiced our alphabet and started learning our song for graduation. During circle time, we got to see the magic with our flashlights in our underwater scene pouches. I hope they loved showing you as much as I did! In centers, we practiced writing U, did our U cutting page, put goldfish into different number fish bowls, and put erasers on U. At the end of the day, we had chapel.
Thursday was umbrellas and unicorns day. We started the day coloring a unicorn. During circle time, we talked about what animals live on land and what animals live in the water. In morning centers, we found U’s, did our U letter review page, matched fish cards with tallies, ten frames, and numbers, and organized and glued umbrellas in order from smallest to largest. In afternoon centers, we did our U is for umbrella page, U is for unicorn page, counted with gems on unicorn ten frames, and organized ocean and land animals. At the end of the day, we got to play outside with our friends!
See you next week for our G week, Grandparent, Gardens, Grass, and Green
