This week we focused on the letter Zz. We talked about how zoo, zig zag, zippers and zebra begin with the letter Zz.
Here is what we did during the days this week:
On Tuesday, we focused on activities with zebras. We read the book Class 2 at the Zoo. During centers, colored a color-by-number lion page, cut out our “The Zz says/z/” cutting page, traced/wrote the letter Zz, built a silly zebra, found the letter Zz and put playdoh on ABC playdoh mats. We also packed ten boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We packed five for boys and five for girls. We prayed over them and the child that will receive the box. The kids had fun helping other kids out!!
On Wednesday, we did activities around zig zags and zippers. We read the book Zoomer. During centers, we linked chain to the corresponding number cards, cut out a Z and put zippers on it, did zig zag ABC string cards, and made ABCs out of snap cubes. We also learned about how a ten frame is done during Mrs. Brandi’s special class.
On Thursday, we focused on activities with zoo. We read the book Never, Ever Shout in a Zoo. During centers, we made zoo animals out of pattern blocks, did a Z is for zebra craft, wrote a creative writing on what animal we would like to be in a zoo, and matched upper to lower case zoo ABCs. For art, we painted our lion craft.
