This week we talked and worked with activities that started with the letter Ff.  We talked about frogs, farm, and the season of fall.

On Tuesday, we focused on frogs.  We read the books Five Green Speckled Frogs, Frog on a Log?, and Froggy Picks a Pumpkin.  During centers, we made our numbers with frog playdoh mats, cut out the Ff says /f/ cutting page, matched upper and lower case frog themed ABCs, and rolled dice to see how many bugs to feed the frog. For a listening activity, we drew a frog while following directions.

On Wednesday, we focused on the farm theme. We read the books Hide and Sheep and The Cow that Laid an Egg.  During centers, we counted with corn, did an Itsy, Bitsy Spider sequencing activity, practiced writing Ff and Oo, did patterning with farm fence patterning cards and popsicle sticks. We colored our farm following directions coloring page. We also rotated through all four classes for our specials.

On Thursday, we focused on the season of fall. We read the books When the Leaf Blew In and Harvest Party. During centers, we clipped clothespins on fall number clip cards, used a pushpin to make a pumpkin using a pumpkin outline, laced with fall lacing cards and got to play with water beads in a sensory bin. We also played color/shape bingo. For art, we painted our hands pink to turn into a pig.

Please make a note of these upcoming things:

Next Thursday , October 21st we will be going to the pumpkin patch and the following week on Wednesday, October 27th, we will be having our Harvest Party at 1:30-2:15. The kids will be able to go home with parents right after the party.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Until next week,

Mrs. Brandi
