This week we focused on the theme of Toy Story.

On Tuesday, we started out the morning with a Toy Story coloring page while we all waited for our class to arrive. After circle time, we went into our morning centers. Here we did a counting activity with clip cards, practiced our cutting, worked on a pre-writing practice page, and put magnets on Buzz Lightyear. After centers, we play color/shape bingo. Then it was time for lunch. After lunch and recess, we did our afternoon centers. We made our numbers out of floam and number mats, played with tanagrams, matched our upper- and lower-case ABCs, and played/built with Legos. At the end of the day, we went outside to play with our friends.

On Wednesday, we practiced tracing/writing our names for start-up. After circle time, we did our morning centers. We worked on size sequencing, played with kinetic sand and army men, worked on letter identification with Buzz Lightyear, and found which picture was different. Before lunch, we painted our handprints for Original Works. Then we had lunch/recess. Afternoon centers consisted of playing a Pizza Planet claw game, made ABCs out of pop-its, and played with Brainflakes. At the end of the day, we got to play with Mrs. Leslie’s class in the big room.

On Thursday, we played with blocks and things while we waited for our friends to arrive to school. After circle time, we did our morning centers. We sorted Andy’s toys and Sunnyside toys, played with a Toy Story playset, put together Toy Story puzzles, and patterned with Andy’s toys. Before lunch, we worked more on our Original Works project. After lunch, we got to go do art. Here we made “Forky” handprint art. At the end of the day, we colored our September monthly coloring page.

Until next week,

Mrs. Brandi
