Hi Parents,
We had another great week! We talked about the letter M. Here is a snapshot…
On Tuesday we had a great time at County Line Orchard! I know most of you were in my group but some weren’t. I hope you went home with lots of apples. I’m grateful the rain held off and we didn’t get soaked!
On Wednesday our theme was ‘If you Give a Moose A Muffin.’ In morning centers the kids counted blueberries (beads) in to muffin tins with numbers on the wrappers, they cut and glued their M page, they fed a ‘moose’ muffins with letters on them (after they said the letter), and they made a moose with the letter M. These are currently hanging in our hallway, they will come home in a few weeks. In afternoon centers the kids played with magnets, fidgets and connecting sticks and also started painting their pictures for their original works projects. For art they used muffin wrappers to create something new i.e., a flower or bird or other animal. We ended our day by reading If you Give a Moose a Muffin and eating our muffins!
On Thursday our theme was ‘Mustache.’ In morning centers the kids counted unifix cubes on to a mustache with numbers, they cut ‘hair,’ they practiced writing the letter Mm, and they made a mustache of their own. These turned out super cute, I posted pictures on the GroupMe page. In the afternoon the kids cut and glued shapes and they finished painting their original works projects. We ended our day with toys.
Next week is already a new month! We will be talking about new letters and numbers. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
