We had a great first week of school! I’m sure your kids were exhausted, I know I was! Here is a snap shot of what our week looked like…
In centers the kids used cookie cutter shapes in kinetic sand, made numbers with monkey string, and colored and cut apart a puzzle of their name. They also drew themselves in the mirror, made Pete the Cat, and cut out circles and ovals. Pete the Cat is hanging in the hallway by our classroom right now but I’ll send him home soon. The kids (and I) were so proud. It was a hard project for them!
On Thursday we had show and share and each student talked about their “All About Me” pages. Its always fun to learn about their families, their favorite things, and what they want to be when they grow up.
For art I did a guided drawing of a person and then I had the kids draw themselves however they wanted. Hopefully you will be seeing these as part of a bigger art project. They turned out great!
Next week we are focusing more on the letter Aa. Check out the calendar for our themes each day. Looking forward to it!
