Mrs. Kelli’s Preschool Classroom

This week, we did various fine motor activities, & focused on the numbers 0 & 1. We also had fun at the apple orchard!

For centers this week, we did puzzles, mini peg boards &  built with magnetic cubes & legos. We did some writing activities on our e-boards, practiced drawing horizontal lines, & even attempted writing our first names.

We counted chips, matching them to zero & one, used unifix cubes to form the numbers zero & one, & did a #1 activity sheet.  In addition, we used our numbered wooden peg boards to practice 1:1 correspondence.

We were able to get some free play time in the Big Room.  We’re loving watching these new friendships form, & it’s also very important to use this time to teach sharing, cooperation, etc.

The apple orchard field trip was lots of fun too! We’re so glad that so many families were able to join us. Even though the weather didn’t fully cooperate, I still think it was a great time!

Books we read this week were The Crayon Box That Talked, & Pete the Cat: Rockin’ in my School Shoes!

We’re almost through September, & I am seeing  more & more progress each day with the littles getting used to Preschool! Occasionally one or two will have a tough time with the initial separation, but within a few minutes, it’s fine. 🙂 Our Preschool team is really loving getting to know all these sweet kids!

Until Next Week,
