Hi Parents,
We had a great week learning about the letter Ff. Here is a snapshot…
On Tuesday our theme was ‘farm.’ In morning centers the kids cut and glued animals to finish a pattern, they traced letters, they worked on a creative writing paper ‘what is in my barn?,’ and they sorted zoo and farm animals from rice bins. Because we had pictures taken in the morning, we spent the afternoon finishing our morning centers. After our extra time with toys in the big room, the kids sponge painted our project for art on Wednesday and they finished some coloring from earlier.
On Wednesday our theme was ‘farm’ again. The kids spent the morning rotating through specials learning Spanish, zoo phonics, science and sign language. During afternoon centers the kids cut and glued rectangles on a farm picture, they played with a barn and farm animals/tractors, they made fence patterns with popsicle sticks, and they matched upper and lowercase letters on tractor wheels. We ended the day with art. The kids made pigs! They cut out all of the pieces and glued them together and then we gave them curly pipe cleaner tails. They turned out so cute and are hanging in our hallway!
On Thursday our theme was ‘frogs.’ In morning centers the kids jumped plastic frogs to lily pads with numbers on them and had to say the number, they stamped their name below a lily pad and glued flowers, they worked on their F page, and they played with frogs and bugs in kinetic sand. In afternoon centers the kids played with floam, they made letters with rubber bands on GEO boards, they ‘fed frogs’ fake bugs with tongs, and they drew a frog for their lily pad from morning centers. We ended the day finishing our frogs and lily pads and playing with some toys.
Next week we will talk about the letter Pp. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
