Hi Parents,
We had a fun week with a Halloween/orange theme!
Tuesday morning was our Harvest party. The kids had a blast! That afternoon the kids worked on a color ‘write the room’ and a coloring sheet. We ended the day with toys.
On Wednesday in morning centers the kids spun a spinner and counted spider rings on to a stick, they found a spider ring in a pumpkin after picking a letter and saying the letter, they cut and glued triangles on to a pumpkin face, and they played with floam. In afternoon centers the kids played with funnels, bottles and beads, they used kinetic sand with pumpkins and spider rings, they practiced cutting on a ghost, and they cut and glued shadows with the matching Halloween themed picture. We ended our day with art. The kids cut out the pumpkin that they painted last week and then cut out a jack-o-lantern face and glued it on. These are hanging in our hallway!
On Thursday we were a sea of orange! In morning centers the kids rolled dice and counted ‘teeth’ (wooden candy corn) on to a monster, they worked on a pumpkin pin poke, they finished a Halloween themed color by number, and they played in water trays with pumpkins and spider rings. In afternoon centers the kids clipped clothes pins on to cups, they made ‘spider webs’ with colanders and spaghetti noodles, and they colored, cut, and hole punched pumpkins. We ended our day making a pumpkin craft, which came home.
Next week is already November! We are talking about the letter Nn. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
