Hi Parents,
We had a great week learning about the letter Jj! Here is a snap shot…
On Tuesday our theme was ‘Jumping for Jesus.’ In morning centers, the kids cut and glued their J page, they made tiny balls of kinetic sand on a mat with Jesus in the manger, and they worked on a letter J color by letter. In the afternoon the kids made jumping J’s! I posted a picture on GoupMe, these are hanging in our classroom. We ended the day with practice for our Christmas play.
On Wednesday our theme was ‘Jellybeans.’ In morning centers, the kids counted jellybeans in to a ‘jar’ on their paper, they colored and cut jellybeans, they practiced writing the letter J, and they put jellybeans on the letter J. In the afternoon the kids wrote their name and drew a Christmas tree, they built with LEGO, and they worked on a few very special projects that are coming home to you for Christmas. We ended the day with art. The kids painted something special for you!
On Thursday our theme was ‘Jingle bells.’ In morning centers, the kids counted jingle bells on to magna tiles, they colored and cut either a gingerbread man or a Christmas tree, and they used our cool light tables with beads and Christmas mats. In the afternoon the kids cut and glued a Christmas themed finish the pattern. We ended the day with practice for our Christmas play.
Next week we will talk about the letter Cc. Don’t forget to wear blue on Tuesday. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
