Hi Parents! What a crazy busy week. This week we learned all about the letter Cc.
Monday’s theme was C is for Cupcake. We started the day with a cupcake coloring page and then it was off to Christmas play practice. Mrs. Trish says the kids have been doing so great during practice. Once back in the classroom we learned about the letter Cc during circle time and started our centers. In centers the kids worked on a sprinkle count and color worksheet. They needed to color only the number of sprinkles noted next to the cupcake. The kids worked mostly independently for this center with some needing some help with higher numbers. Another center was a roll, count and decorate the cupcake with sprinkles. The kids were given “sprinkles” which were cut up pipe cleaners and needed to roll dice to determine how many to put on the cupcake. We also worked on our super secret craft projects. Today we read the kids favorite book No David!
On Tuesday our theme was Cool Clouds and it was wear blue to school day. In centers the kids used tweezers to pick up cotton balls (clouds) and fill up the cloud with the number on the card. Another center was an upper and lowercase letter match game with clouds and raindrops. The kids also did the C Says write, cut and paste worksheet. We also found time to work on our craft projects. Today we read Llama Llama Holiday Drama.
Wednesday was a full day of fun with the theme of Candy Cane Kindness. We all had an extended full Christmas play practice and it was amazing! I can’t wait for you to see the it! Once back in the classroom we used beads to create a red and white candy cane pattern and the kids got to pick out one candy cane from our Christmas tree to take home. Today we read My Cc Book.
On Thursday, the theme was If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. We started the day with our Find the Cc page. We did have some fun playing with some new toys together and working our fine motor muscles with some Legos. The kids were working on their super secret craft projects also. At the end of the day we read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and ate chocolate chip cookies! The kids loved it!
It was a full and fun week! Next week our theme is Christmas and our Christmas play is on Wednesday! See you then.
