This week we learned about the letter I. Tuesday was igloos and ice cubes day. We started the day playing with toys. Then we had circle time and bathroom break. For morning centers, we wrote upper and lowercase I, put magnets on I’s and igloos, stamped to 50 to celebrate our 50th day of school, and made igloos and snow with paint for our art project. Then we washed hands and had lunch and recess and another bathroom break. For art, we made our Eskimos and finished our winter hats. Then we continued with unfinished work and mid year evaluations. We went to big room and played the riddle game and then played with our friends to end the day.
Wednesday was indoor ice skating day. We started the day writing our names and numbers. Then we had specials where we rotate through phonics, sign language, science, and Spanish. In Phonics, we discussed the new letter of the week, watched a zoophonics video, and worked out to letters and sounds. After lunch and recess we had centers where we made an ice skate, did our I cutting page, wrote I’s, and did an igloo count. Then we had big room where we indoor ice skated with friends. To end the day, we did more mid-year evaluations.
Thursday was ice cream day! We started the day coloring an ice cream cone. In morning centers, we played ice cream shop, made ice cream with playdoh, did an Ispy ice cream game, and made a push pin ice cream cone. In afternoon centers, we wrote on the big board, wrote letters to the new kids, played the sprinkle 20 game, and made an ice cream cone. Then we had big room and then had our whole PreK ice cream social!
See you next week for S week, snowmen, sports, and superheros!
