This week we focused on the letter Gg. We talked about the sound the Gg makes and words that begin with the letter Gg. We came up with gorilla, grass, grandparents, girl, and gate.

On Tuesday, we focused on the theme of St. Patrick’s Day and Grandparents Day. For centers, we worked on a St Patty’s Day counting page, made St. Patrick’s Day objects out of snap cubes and following a pattern, traced/wrote the letter Gg, and made towers out of correct number that was on the rainbow themed card. We then did our Gg says /g/ page. After lunch, we got to celebrate our grandparents at our Grandparents Day program.

On Wednesday, we focused more on the letter Gg. For centers, we worked on a more or less worksheet and tally marks, matched the number on ten/twenty frames with the correct number, made letters our of geoboards, and linked linking chains with the correct number on the card. In the afternoon, we did a St. Patty’s Day write the room. Also, we got to rotate through some fine motor centers before dismissal time.

On Thursday, we focused on the theme of “Growing Gardens”. For morning art, we worked on a color, cut and paste build a flower. For centers, we constructed letters with plastic pieces, measured flowers with unifix blocks, matched ABCs with a sunflower theme, and strung beads on pipe cleaners with the correct number on the flower. In the afternoon, we finished up our centers and then went into the big room for choice play with our friends.

Enjoy your spring break!!!!
