Hi Parents,

We had a really fun week together! Here is a snap shot…

On Tuesday our theme was ‘celebrating spring.’ In morning centers the kids worked on a spring color by letter, they assembled and built plastic flowers, they colored a spring colors book, and they played with mini sand boxes. In the afternoon, before our extra big room time, the kids cut and glued their Y page and finished their coloring from morning centers. For our extra big room time we did 2 ‘Hey riddle riddles,’ 1 for the letter U and 1 for the letter E. We finished that time by playing duck duck goose. We ended the day finishing our spring color books and playing with toys.

On Wednesday our theme was ‘Y is for Yellow.’ In the morning the kids rotated through specials learning Spanish, sign language, science and zoo phonics. In afternoon centers, the kids cut and glued the word ‘yellow’ and finished the drawing of a flower, they weaved yellow pipe cleaners through cooling racks, they sorted colored game pieces with tweezers, and they made letters with rubber bands on GEO boards. We ended the day with art and the kids painted a spring tree using Duplo blocks.

On Thursday we celebrated Easter all day in class! In morning centers the kids found eggs under cups, they put together eggs with silly faces, they put eggs in muffin tins with grabbers, and they used magnets and markers on a large white board. The kids loved being out of the classroom for fun centers. After lunch and bathroom, we had our egg hunt. The kids had to find eggs with their first name, last name, their number, the first letter of their first name, and the first letter of their last name. They also found some eggs that didn’t have anything on them. They loved looking and loved opening them to see what was inside even more! Thank you again for everything sent in! We ended the day by coloring cutting and gluing eggs into a basket. Those will come home next week.

Next week we will talk about the letter Qq. Looking forward to it!

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Take Care,

Missy
