This week we focused on Easter and the letter Qq. We talked about the reason we celebrate Easter and the sound the letter Qq makes. We also talked about words that begin with the letter Qq. We came up with quilt, quarter, quail, and question.
On Tuesday, we celebrated Easter. For morning centers, we played a “Roll-a-Bunny” game, traced the upper- and lower-case ABCs with an Easter theme, colored a spring color by letter, and rolled dice and matched that many jellybeans to the correct number. After lunch, we worked on an Easter craft. At the end of the day, we got to choice play centers with our friends. We read books about the meaning of Easter.
On Wednesday, we focused on the theme of “Queen”. In The morning, we had specials with all five all-day teachers. For centers, we worked on ten frames by rolling dice and used rhinestones to make the ten frame, used snap cubes to make easter themed objects, traced/wrote the letter Qq, and made our ABCs with pop-its. In the afternoon, we worked on a spring following directions page. We read books with the letter Qq in them.
On Thursday, we focused on the theme of “quirky quilts”. for morning art, we painted our frames for King and Queen Day. For centers, we used Fruit Loops to make a quilt, practiced making letters with Play-Doh, and did a “Q is for Quail” cut and paste page. In the afternoon, we started to work on evaluating for the end of the year!!!!!
Until next week,
