This week we learned about the letter B. Tuesday was butterfly day and we celebrated Grayson’s birthday. We started the day coloring a butterfly and talking about the butterfly life cycle. In centers, we wrote upper and lowercase B, wrote about where we would fly to if we were butterflies, counted butterflies, and cut and glued the butterfly life cycle. For art we made butterflies with plates and made butterfly hand prints. The kids also did a color by shape page. At the end of the day we played the riddle game and played with our friends.
Wednesday was bug day. We started the day writing our names and numbers in our quick kits. For Specials we learned about our new letter sound, animal, and practiced our Zoo phonics song. In centers, we started our bug books, found B’s with magnets, did a bug patterns page, and played in a bug sensory bin. At the end of the day we made our frames and started answering mom and dad questions.
Thursday was brown bear day. We started the day playing toys with friends. In morning centers, we did a brown bear writing page, our B cutting page, a bear roll and cover math game, and counted and sorted bears. In afternoon centers, we did a brown bear tracing page, played Bingo, did a color by number, and did a bear maze. At the end of the day we finished our bug books and any makeup work from the week.
See you next week for our last letter, K week, King, kindness, and kites. And of course, our king and queen day for you parents!
