This week we focused on the letter Kk. We talked about the sound the letter Kk makes and words that begin with the letter Kk. We came up with kangaroo, kick, key, kitchen and many more.

On Tuesday, we had our King & Queen Day in the afternoon. For morning centers, we made 10 frames with pop-its and ten frame cards, did a cut & paste Kk is for Kangaroo page, traced/wrote the letter Kk and made a K with tanagram puzzle pieces. Before lunch, we did our Kk says /k/ page. After lunch, we had our King & Queen Day where we sang songs to our parents. We had a great time!!!!

On Wednesday, we focused on Earth Day. For centers, we started to eval for the end of the year by counting out loud and objects, made shapes with geoboards, did an Earth Day letter search, and colored a color-by-number Earth Day page. After lunch, we did some more evaluating. We read books about Earth Day!!!

On Thursday, we focused on kites and talked about being kind. For morning centers, we counted the number of kites and clipped the correct number, evaluated our cutting skills, matched uppercase and lowercase ABCs with a kite theme, and wrote our name and colored the May monthly coloring page. For art, we used a balloon to pant a kite and painted our hands for our graduation hats.

Until next week,
