This week we focused on the theme of “All About Me”. We talked about how we are all unique, have families and how to be a good friend.
On Tuesday, we started the day by waiting for all of our friends to arrive. We then went into circle time. For morning centers, we worked on number puzzles by matching the number to the number of objects, made our shapes out of Play-doh, put Lego stickers in the letter of our first name and wrote our names, worked with rubber bands and geoboards to work on our fine motor skills. After we got done with centers, we got our “wiggles” out by dancing to some “Danny Go.” After lunch and recess, we went into our afternoon centers. Here we constructed letters, played with kinetic sand and worked on our pencil grip by tracing different things in a booklet. After our big room time, we played a game of “Color/Shape Bingo”. We had a lot of fun!!!!!!
On Wednesday, we started the day by waiting for our friends to arrive. After that we, went into big room time. Then we went into our morning centers. Here we worked on color puzzles, drew ourselves by looking at our features in a mirror, practiced tracing/writing our names, and peeled circle dot stickers and stuck the to a circle pattern. Then we sat and went through circle time. After lunch and recess, we got to go into our afternoon centers. Here we practiced patterning, linked together linking chain by matching what was on the card, made ABCs with pop-its and worked on tanagram puzzles. At the end of the day, we got to play with our friends by working together in “play” centers. We also read books with the “All About Me” theme.
Thursday was our field trip to the apple orchard!!!! Even though the day started out soggy, the sun came out and we had a wonderful time!!! It was so nice to see all the kiddos and their families outside of the school.
