This week we learned about the letter I. Tuesday was Igloos and ice cubes day. We started the day coloring our own igloos. For morning centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase I, found the I’s, did a shapes puzzle, and made snow with Lego blocks! In afternoon centers, we did a color by letter, practiced making ten frames, made igloos with Lego blocks, and used clothespins to find what word starts with different letters. At the end of the day, we did a following directions activity, then had story time.

Wednesday was indoor ice skating day! We started the day practicing writing our first and last names. In centers, we did our ‘I’ cutting page, a words puzzle, more practice with ten frames, and we made our own ice skates! For specials we watched the Zoophonics video and practiced our letter sounds. At the end of the day we had chapel time and talked about Joseph and his story about his brothers and his colorful coat.

Thursday was ice cream day! We started the day coloring an ice cream cone. For centers, we colored our eskimos, did a matching upper and lowercase ice cream game, did ice cream patterns with colorful kinetic sand, and did a cutting ice cream activity. For art, we put our snow, igloos, and eskimos together to make a cute winter craft! They pulled apart cotton balls to make the fur around the hood and coat of their snowsuit. These turned out so cute! At the end of the day, we ate ice cream! See you next week for X week.
