Week of October 7th

Mrs. Kelli’s Preschool Classroom

 

We had a busy, but fun week! We took our school pictures, got a visit from the St. John Fire Dept, and learned about the letter Oo & the color orange!

 

*Our usual center time on Monday & Tuesday was taken up by our pictures, and the Fire Dept. visit.*

 

Here are the centers we did on Wednesday & Thursday:

Centers this week focused on letter Oo.

We did a letter Oo find, using magnets

We formed the letter Oo, using various orange objects

We ripped orange paper, which is a great way to strengthen our hands and fingers

We learned that red + yellow makes orange! We used eye droppers to mix the colors together. This is another great way to develop those fine motor skills.

We colored an octopus orange for our Oo ABC page

*We read My Oo Book to go with our letter Oo theme.

 

For Art, we made the cutest little owls-gluing on eyes, beaks & feet!

Huge thanks to Skylar’s dad, Mr. Strbjak & the St. John  Fire Dept. for coming to ABC FOUR times this week to teach us about fire safety! We loved learning some important things, and even got to see and go into the fire truck!
