Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Christmas break! This week went very well overall, considering we were away for 2+ weeks! Hardly any tears at all, and everyone seemed happy & excited to be back! 🙂
This week, we focused on the star shape and the letter W

Centers this week:
We traced stars
We practiced cutting straight lines leading up to a star
We did shape matching, using clip cards for fine motor practice
We put stickers on a star page (stickers are also great to practice fine motor)
We colored our “Star Light, Star Bright” nursery rhyme page
We evaluated shape & color recognition
We used dot markers on a winter themed page
We colored a watermelon for our W ABC page
We used eye droppers to put water on the letter W
We evaluated oral counting & sorting
Other:
We are in the process of evaluating for our mid-year progress reports, which you will receive next week.
We used our time after centers to test upper/lowercase alphabet recognition & to weigh and measure.
NOTES:
Remember, next Monday & Tuesday, we are having a special ice cream treat! We are eating vanilla ice cream cups (Great Value brand), chocolate syrup, and various sprinkles. If your child can’t have this, PLEASE reach out & let me know, and send in a safe replacement. Thank you!
