This week we learned about the letter K. Tuesday was King and Queen Celebration day. We also celebrated Anna’s early birthday. We started the day writing our first and last names and phone numbers. In centers, we practiced writing upper and lowercase K, wrote about how to be a kind kid, found all the words that start with K and glued them onto a kangaroo, and put jewels on K. Then we had our king and queen performance. I hope all you moms and dads enjoyed all the songs!
Wednesday was King day. We started the day playing with toys with our friends. We had specials and practiced all our songs for graduation. In centers, we made a K king, made K’s on geo boards, made marble bunnies with paint, and did a king patterns page. At the end of the day, we did our K cutting page and started evaluations.
Thursday was Kite day. We started the day reading books with friends. In morning centers, we wrote about where we would fly to if we were a kite, wrote K’s on writing tablets, counted beads and put them on kites, and did a kite cutting page. In afternoon centers, we traced and wrote K’s, put kite pieces together to make a kite, and glued kite pieces onto a piece of paper. At the end of the day, we got to play with kids that will be going to the same school as us next year! The kids always love to do this and we will continue the next couple weeks as well.
See you next week for our last letter Y, yellow and yarn and our first day of May!
