This week we learned about our last letter, letter Y! Tuesday was making yarn art day. We started the day reading books with friends. In centers, we wrote upper and lowercase Y, found all the Y’s and pictures that start with Y, put tangrams on Y, and did our Y cutting page. For art, we laced yarn through holes in a yellow letter Y. Then we had our first graduation practice. After that, we had story time and did a Y is for yo-yo page and continued with evaluations.
Wednesday was Yellow Day. Thanks to all that wore yellow on this day, it was bright and cheery! We started the day coloring Y’s yellow. Then we had Specials and practiced sign language, Spanish, and phonics songs for graduation. Then we did our yellow page and made a yellow book. We had another Graduation practice and did more evaluations. At the end of the day, we got to play with friends that are going to our school next year!
Thursday was Camping Day. We started the day playing toys with friends. Then we got to do our camping day. We had a pretend campfire and sang songs and played games around it. We also used pretzels as sticks and ‘roasted’ marshmallows. Then we got to go inside a tent and read stories. We had so much fun! Then we made camping bookmarks and did a camping coloring sheet. We also did some s’mores math and camping words phonics. At the end of the day, we did our end of the year farm following directions page.
See you next week for our review week! We will be reviewing all the letters of the alphabet.
