Hi Parents,

We had a great week learning about the letter Bb. Here is a snap shot…

On Tuesday our theme was ‘Butterflies.’ In morning centers, the kids worked on adding with dominos, they cut and glued their B page, they drew a butterfly, and they traced and colored a butterfly in a quick kit. Because we had graduation pictures in the morning during centers, we finished centers after lunch and then had our extra big room time. We played a few games and also did a ‘hey riddle riddle’ for the letters G and D. We ended the day by finishing a butterfly color by letter and playing with toys.

On Wednesday our theme was ‘Bugs.’ In the morning the kids rotated through specials learning Spanish, science, zoo phonics, and sign language. In afternoon centers, the kids measured bugs with links, they cut and glued bugs finishing the pattern, they played with bugs in kinetic sand, and they cut and glued their own bug. We ended the day with art. The kids sponge painted butterflies.

On Thursday our theme was ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear.’ In morning centers, the kids laced cards with the different animals from the book, they counted and stacked cups, they wrote about ‘what they see’ like the book, and they wrote the phrases from the book with dry erase markers. In the afternoon, the kids worked on a count the room. They had to walk around the foyer and find pictures of flowers with bees on them. They had to count the bees and write the number on their paper. This activity is great for counting and writing! We ended the day by writing a letter and drawing a picture for future ABC students.

Next week we will talk about our last letter, the letter Kk. Looking forward to King and Queen day on Wednesday at 12:30.

Take Care,

Missy
