Hi Parents!

This was such a fun week for everyone!  This week’s letter was Vv.

Monday was our Valentine’s party and the kids seemed to have a great time.  I hope you enjoyed the festivities also!

On Tuesday we kept our theme of Valentine’s.  We started the day with a Vv coloring sheet.  In centers the kids worked on their The Vv Says write, cut and paste worksheet.  Lots of improvement is happening and they are getting quicker with cutting.  Another center was a heart missing number worksheet where the kids needed to identify what the missing number was and glue the correct heart in its place.  This required them to follow 3 steps.  This was stretch for most of the kids.  We will be working more with number identification and counting.  The kids also did a Valentine’s I-Spy and count the pictures.  Although a challenge, I did pretty good with counting.  The kids also practiced writing their Vv’s with dry erase quick kits and did some puzzles.

Wednesday is Art day and our theme was V is for Vegetable.  So we combined both and painted with vegetables! They dabbed broccoli and rolled corn in paint to create cool textures and shapes.  They had a blast getting messy!  Back in the classroom the kids finished off their family Valentine with stringing beads on pipe cleaners for their heart family drawings.  I wanted to keep these to display in the hallway but they all wanted to give them to their moms and dads.  They’re adorable!  We also had a discussion about the Olympics with the kids so we did a little fine motor work with stickers on Olympic rings.

Thursday was another fun day of celebrating Valentine’s day!  The kids did a Valentine’s color by number which the kids wanted to take home to finish.  And they decorated their Valentine’s bags for collecting all their treats.  And there were so many treats!  It took a bunch of time to pass them all out and the kids enjoyed giving them to everyone.  Thank you to all the parents for helping their kids fill out their Valentines and sending in so much!

Next week the letter is Ll with lots of love and lollipops!
