Hi Parents,
We had a great week talking about the letter Ss. Here is a snap shot…
On Tuesday our theme was ‘Snowman.’ In morning centers, the kids put together snowman shape puzzles, they colored and cut out a snowman, they made a tiny snowman with play doh, and they wrote all of the lowercase letters. In the afternoon, before our extra big room time, the kids cut and glued together a snowman. For our extra big room time, the kids played with toys while I continued to work on evaluating them. The kids ended the day doing a Hey Riddle Riddle for the letter S with Mrs. Tiffany while I met with some of you for conferences.
On Wednesday our theme was ‘Sports.’ In the morning the kids rotated through specials learning Spanish, science, zoo phonics, and sign language. In afternoon centers the kids worked on a sports themed I spy, they cut and glued their S page, and they decorated their own jersey, wrote their last name, and cut it out. The kids ended the day cutting and gluing snowmen with Mrs. Chris while I finished up conferences with some of you.
On Thursday our theme was ‘Super Heroes.’ In morning centers, the kids worked on super hero graphing, they played with Duplo blocks and super hero figures, they wrote about being a super hero, and they cut and colored their own super hero mask. In afternoon centers, the kids cut and glued a super hero with shapes, they played with super hero figures and kinetic sand, and they cut and glued super hero patterns. We ended the day with toys.
Thank you everyone for coming out for conferences. I was thrilled to show each of you the progress your child has made so far!
Next week we will talk about the letter Xx. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
