Hi Parents,
We had such a fun week learning about the letter Pp. Here is a snapshot…
On Monday our theme was ‘Pumpkins.’ In the morning, before lunch, we had chapel with Mrs. Kelli and Mrs. Kristina. The kids learned about pumpkins and Jesus. Ask your kids how the two go together! After lunch and recess, for centers, the kids looked for a spider in a pumpkin after picking a card and saying the letter, they cut and glued their P page, they cut and glued the face on to a pumpkin, and they played in a sensory bin with corn, construction trucks, pumpkins, and spiders. They always love the sensory centers! For art, the kids painted a pumpkin.
On Tuesday the theme was ‘Pretend Pizza Party.’ In the morning the kids had their extra big room time and had a chance to play with toys. After lunch and recess, for centers, the kids worked on a pizza themed color by number, they made a ‘pizza’ by coloring, cutting and gluing all of the toppings on to a plate, they cut pumpkins and hole punched them, and they built with magnet blocks and magnet people. We ended the day by finishing cutting and gluing our pretend pizzas and working on a page all about rectangles.
On Wednesday our theme was ‘Pj’s and Popcorn.’ Hopefully your child loved wearing Pj’s to school! In the morning all of the kids rotated through specials learning Spanish, science, sign language and zoo phonics. After lunch and recess, the kids watched Spookly the square pumpkin and ate Pirate’s Booty as a snack. We ended the day by cutting out our pumpkins that we had painted in art on Monday and cut and gluing a face on them. I’m hoping to hang these in the big room so you can see them at their party.
Thursday was our field trip to the pumpkin patch. What a beautiful day! I hope everyone loved it. If I took your picture I sent it to you on GroupMe.
Next week we will talk about the letter Oo. Looking forward to it!
Take Care,
Missy
